WINTER WEDDINGS FILLED WITH SEASONAL TOUCHES

Winter is a magical time of year to get married! As a Vermonter, I will always have a love of the quiet found in the world when everything is blanketed in snow. “Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.” ― Edith Sitwell

1. WINTER WONDERLAND SNOWSHOE ELOPEMENT IN VERMONT – ALEX & MIKE

The snow fell in flurries as Alex & Mike hiked through their favorite wooded trails in Hinesburg. Then, they exchanging vows on a snow covered bridge.

“Vermont winters are special to us, and we had so many amazing memories on these trails. Being in the woods also gave us the privacy we were looking for on this intimate day. The most emotional moment of the day for us was exchanging our vows. It felt really special to have that moment happen between just the two of us. It allowed us to fully express our emotions.” – Alex

2. VERMONT WINTER SOLSTICE ELOPEMENT AT CHARLOTTE BEACH – WILL & RUBY

Will & Ruby eloped on the December Winter Solstice at Charlotte Beach in Vermont. Will built a fire from driftwood to warm their hands, much to the confusion of their puppy who continuously tried to start a game of fetch. A truly intimate event, the only people present were myself and the officiant while they exchanged their vows on the shores of Lake Champlain. It was incredible. See more of this wedding, here.

Christina & Jim planned an intimate Christmas Wedding at their favorite place to celebrate the winter season, at Sugarbush in the Mad River Valley of Vermont. They were the first couple to exchange vows at Allyn’s Lodge, a cabin on the mountainside only accessible by snowcat or chairlift! After a candle-lit dinner with their immediate family, everyone got on their ski boots and headlamps and went on a night ski down the slopes! 5. MODERN AND ORGANIC NEUTRAL PALETTE WEDDING INSPIRATION AT WATERWORKS – IN WINOOSKI, VERMONT

This editorial was a dream! Lead by Jaclyn Watson Events, each vendor came together with a shared vision to create a chic, organic, neutral color palette modern wedding inspiration.

The design of the editorial was based on a neutral palette, with a focus on black and dark gray as one of the main shades. A mix of dried florals, dyed florals (including the palm frond), and delicate blooms perfectly represented that mix of modern and chic style we wanted to explore. The table was set with black candles, organic shaped plates, with dried florals on each napkin set atop a soft geometric tablecloth.

Meagan & Akheil married on a warm December day in Washington DC. You can see all of the images, here!

“The first look and private vow reading turned out to be among our favorite moments. That intimate moment gave us both the time to react purely to our vows, to laugh and tear up. It also gave us the space to reflect on our relationship and affirm to one another the life that we’ve built, before doing so in front of our friends and family. It set the perfect tone for the rest of the celebration.” – Meagan & Akheil

7. HONEYMOON VOW READING AT CHATEAU GUTSCH IN SWITZERLAND – LUCERNE, SWITZERLAND

“We both felt this natural, romantic draw to revisit our vows. It was the first time since our private vow reading on the wedding day that we’d recited them to each other. The unexpected delight was how we had already blurred certain details – revisiting in this intimate setting was the perfect moment and place to do so, and I’ll never forget it.” – Nick
