“I was so happy to be able to do a photo shoot with Julia last fall. She took the time to understand what it was that I was looking for; asking questions to get me to think deeper about how I wanted to portray myself, and offering excellent guidance on clothing, backdrop, and how to make the most of our time together. The shoot itself was so much fun, with Julia giving silly and serious prompts to bring myself out. I feel so grateful to have her as a photographer, and a friend!” – Abby
Tina & Bill married on July 28, 2018 at The Little Farm at Willoughby. “We chose this venue because it had the most breath taking view. I grew up on Lake Willoughby, and being able to see the lake with the mountains behind it was a reflection of the love I share for my hometown, my family and my husband. It meant so much to me to have all of the people we love in the place that we love. We wanted to combine the city chic with rustic charm.” – Tina
“I am inspired by nostalgia and the comfort foods of my childhood, but also uncommon and unique ingredients from around the world and the bounty of local and seasonal ingredients available in Vermont. I like to blend all of that together to make food that is at once familiar and exciting.” – Shana
“There was one moment where we were walking back from taking pictures and just got to see all of our closest friends and family just laughing, drinking and eating in the barn and I felt very lucky. It was so surreal to be able to share this moment with all of them.” – Pilar
“To be with him in this quiet space has been an expansive and amazing gift. Time has stood still since he came into our lives.” – Amanda
Tara & Paul tied the knot on September 2, 2017 at Shelburne Farms, a National Historic Landmark known for its 1900s Gilded Age architecture and sweeping views of Lake Champlain. Tara explained, “We wanted to share this beautiful place with everyone we love and care so much about. Shelburne Farms is simple and breathless at the same time.”The style of the buildings, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, and their integration into the landscape inspired the bride to create an elegant and timeless wedding. “It was very important to highlight nature in both the ceremony and reception spaces. We did so with lush greenery, beautiful florals, gold accents, and romantic candle light.”
My favorite way to plan a family session is to focus on the activities that are quintessential to their lives right now. For Lance & Katie & newborn Analise, it’s spending time at their favorite places in downtown Winooski and quiet time at home.
The Gang of Thieves are known for their funky Rock n Roll tunes and big energy performances, so for this session I wanted to bring out that energy by showcasing some of our favorite places in Burlington.
Damp ocean air, the smell of dried seaweed, rocks cooling quickly after sunset and the sound of the waves rolling in. It never gets old.
“Our wedding plans to elope from our home state of Maine were in place early in December. But where to go? Who should we invite? How will we capture the memories of our special day? There’s something about Vermont. The magnificent family vacations on Lake Champlain. The memories of working in Burlington. Lifelong friends and stories only they would understand. A winter wedding in Vermont on New Year’s Eve? The perfect plan.” – Bill & Vicki
