Haley & Ken married on a windy June day on Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, New York. The weather conditions at this mountaintop intimate wedding were intense. It was around 45 degrees, the wind was wiping across the open rock face and we were surrounded by misty clouds and intermittent rain. But that didn’t put a damper on Haley & Ken.

“Kenny and I love going to the top of whiteface during the fall. It is one of my favorite spots to see the fall foliage. On a September day, Kenny and I went to the top of whiteface and it was a pretty gross day, you couldn’t see anything, it was cold and very windy. Kenny didn’t let the weather stop him, he got down and proposed – and suddenly the cold and wind didn’t matter! We always wanted a small wedding and whiteface just felt right. The day he proposed the weather was gross, and the day we got married was the same way, I like to think it’s good luck. “ – Haley

“My favorite moment was when I got to Kenny at the “end of the aisle.” I hadn’t seen him all day and the excitement was building up. We both had the biggest smiles and seeing him just calmed my nerves.” – Haley

“There really is no planning around the weather when having a wedding on a mountaintop ( mountaintops have there own weather). We had terrible weather, but Kenny and I didn’t let it stop us. We were all freezing, but in that moment it didn’t matter. I was marrying my best friend which was the only thing that mattered in that moment.” – Haley

The family gathered at the Harmony Country Club to celebrate.

“Julia made us feel so comfortable. Kenny and I were both very anxious about having someone taking our picture, but it just felt so natural. I love how she goes through every little detail with you it helps prepare for a somewhat stressful day.” – Haley

These two had wild weather during their ceremony on top of Whiteface Mountain – and the wedding was incredibly moving, honest and Haley & Ken were so happy. For couples who are affected by Covid, know that I am here for you to help adjust your celebration as needed. Whether that is rescheduling, downsizing, or completely reimagining the day, I’m happy to connect with anyone who is looking to find creative solutions. Whatever storm comes your way, I’m happy to help navigate the trail map.
