My favorite way to plan a family session is to focus on the activities that are quintessential to their lives right now. For Lance & Katie & newborn Analise, it’s spending time at their favorite places in downtown Winooski and quiet time at home.

Caitlin & Paul married on June 24, 2017 in pastoral Waitsfield, VT.  The rain gave way to a gorgeous, sunny day at the Inn at the Round Barn Farm. Stone walls, lily-pad filled ponds, archways and butterflies made this a beautiful place to celebrate. The two tied the knot at the Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, with a traditional ceremony lead by one of Paul’s childhood friends, Grayson. I photographed Caitlin’s sister’s wedding last year, and it was awesome to visit with the family again and be part of another exemplary wedding.

“I felt a sense of calm that I did not expect to feel on our wedding day. I was nervous to have all eyes on me for sure, but I was so happy to be surrounded by our wonderful families and so excited & comforted to be marrying Garrett that I wasn’t really anxious about anything. I was definitely expecting to be a weepy mess during the ceremony, and got pretty emotional just thinking about it ahead of time. But when I took Garrett’s arm at the altar and saw & felt how emotional he was, all I felt was this need to support him. That was a solidifying moment for me – Garrett has been my rock through so much, and there I knew that I would be able to be a rock for him too as we go through life. ” – Kate

“Last summer is when we decided to officially go into business together, but we have been dancing together for about 3 years. We actually are one day apart in age and went through school together but, we never really got to know each other until we danced on the salsa team. Now we get to create choreography, teach Latin dance, and eat dinner together! ” – Jon Bacon

Upside down, sideways, and oxygen-deprived  – there’s nothing else quite like photographing underwater. Most the normal rules of creating a photograph are thrown out the window because the rules of physical space are completely different.

Women never cease to amaze me with their strength, joy, and ability to overcome obstacles. Our lives may be different, but we all basically have the same goals: to provide for ourselves and our family, enjoy our lives, be healthy, eat good food, enjoy our friendships, and live comfortably. Women deserve all these things and more, and I hope these images inspire you to help make that world a reality.
