Wells & Jeremy married in June at the Boston Public Garden. Like many couples, they postponed their big celebration due to Covid. They opted to still get married on their planned wedding date in the heart of Boston.

“We were sad to postpone our wedding and for a few days we didn’t want to see solutions or to make new plans, we just wanted to be sad about it. And I think that’s healthy. We ended up cancelling our rehearsal dinner that was planned for next summer and used that budget to pay for this wedding. I think the best piece of advice is to embrace how non-traditional all of this is. My parents drove Wells to the ceremony site because Ubers weren’t available. There was no bridal party. Not only did her dad not walk her down the aisle, there wasn’t even an aisle. Our advice is to be flexible, embrace how odd it all is, rely on your families to help, and just enjoy every moment of it. The absence of those traditions didn’t take away from the moment for us, it in fact made it more “us” because we  – bride, groom, families – drove everything.” – Jeremy

Wells & Jeremy had a few extra hoops to jump through, “We postponed for the pandemic, then created this micro wedding all within a week, then moved the ceremony up because of the weather, only to find our preferred spot surrounded by dozens of police officers anticipating a march coming through. For me, my favorite moment was when I finally saw it all come together: to turn around and see Wells glowing with happiness, walking around and taking photos while strangers said “Congratulations!” through their own masks. It became really real and I couldn’t stop smiling.” – Jeremy

“Even with a small ceremony, the morning was hectic and stressful: navigating through the weather and trying to actually do my makeup for the first time in nearly four months. Getting to Boston Public Garden and finally seeing Jeremy made me feel at ease for the first time all day. “ – Wells

Sometimes the unexpected moments can be the most powerful. “One of my favorite moments was having our first dance in the garden. A man who was playing guitar in the garden saw us and asked if we had just got married. After we replied yes, he told us he would play something special and began to sing “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King. The moment was absolutely perfect as we danced in the nearly empty garden. “ – Wells

Watching Wells & Jeremy dancing, laughing and spinning as the rain misted around them was pure magic. The silver lining of wearing a mask while I photograph weddings is that’s it’s really convenient to soak up all the happy tears! The ceremony was absolutely wonderful, with their close friend Elizabeth Schorr officiating and their immediate families were present. You may recognize Wells’ sister, Tara, and her husband Paul, from their Elegant Shelburne Farms Wedding.

“When we stood under the trees, I felt like everything stopped for those moments. Jeremy’s words allowed my emotions to finally breathe and escape my tense body. His vows, and being surrounded by our close family, made me feel calm, loved, supported, and every other feeling that validated what we were doing that day. “ – Wells 

“The most emotional moment for me was reading our vows. In my practice runs in the weeks leading up, I couldn’t keep myself composed so I knew I had no chance of not crying the day of. Standing in front of Wells and our families and being so open and sincere about my absolute love for this woman was overwhelming and amazing. Wells is a much more accomplished public speaker than I am, so I knew she would nail hers. Once she got to hers, I think we were all crying. It was a feeling I will never forget.” -Jeremy 

Afterwards, they popped a special bottle of Bollinger Champagne and celebrated the night away!

“We don’t know where to start. There are a ton of people who take amazing photos – and Julia is among them – but that’s just necessary, not sufficient, in choosing an event photographer. Julia is not a person who just takes pictures of your event, Julia is a person who makes you feel like your event is the only thing going on in the world. We were a ball of stress leading up the wedding and each time we talked to Julia, her professionalism, warmth, and total competence made us feel at ease. We never felt like a client, but rather a partner in the process. Then we got the photos and were blown away all over again. We would – and actually did – hire her again.“ – Wells & Jeremy
