Catherine & Jesse married in Newbury, Vermont on Saturday, September 12, 2015. I loved all of the personal touches and details that were part of this wedding, everything from the cake to the dress was made with love, specifically for the occasion. One of the highlights for me was the ceremony, which literally brought the entire audience to tears.
“When we began planning our ceremony, Jesse and I decided to include those traditions that we found meaningful, and to write the rest ourselves. In our vows, we used some of the traditional lines that spoke to us, but we added our own promises — for example, to love and respect each other’s families.
The support of our family made this wedding come together, and I was happy that every element of our ceremony reflected that: my sister officiated, Jesse’s family sang one of our favorite songs, my brother played in our processional, and my dad read a poem he wrote. It was also really important to us to include everyone gathered there. My sister asked our guests if they would support us in our marriage, and when they shouted “We do!”, we had our entire wedding party pronounce us husband and wife. I loved hearing everyone’s voice during the ceremony.” – Catherine
