Gussie & Connor married on a gorgeous September day at her family’s home in South Hero, Vermont.
“This is a special place that has been in my family for decades. My mom and her sisters grew up spending the summers on the property and the next generation followed. Our wedding parties were able to stay on-site and was the perfect backdrop for an end of summer, early fall wedding.” – Gussie
Additionally, “We’ve both grown up on the water so being married right on the rocks made it that much more spectacular.” – Connor

For the decor, “I knew from the beginning that I wanted a clear tent and wicker pendant lights. Imagining the sparkly lights through the clear ceiling and allowing the beautiful lake, rocks and surrounding trees to be part of the decor was part of the design. I also wanted to make it feel like a green house under the tent so we had lots of plants and flowers everywhere. My sister is very talented and did all of the flower arrangements herself! It was magical and perfect.” – Gussie
Gussie chose the gorgeous Emerson gown by Alyssa Kristin. The Lace Wings cape floated around them throughout the day. It was truly magical and perfect for the soft fall breeze that fell around us on the shores of Lake Champlain.
An Emotional and Heart Felt Wedding On The Shores of Lake Champlain
“The most emotional part of the day was getting to watch Gussie walk down the aisle with her dad, Ronan. It was a moment I had envisioned for quite some time and having it finally come to fruition was everything I’d dreamed of.” – Connor
“I tried and I tried to get through my vows, but I could not make it through without choking up. At our first look we decided to read our vows to each other. I immediately started crying and struggled to get through. I was hopeful that I had gotten it out of my system. But round two in front of our closest family and friends and there I was struggling to get words out through my tears! I remember hearing my dad, just behind me say, “Gus, take a breath.” So I did.” – Gussie
A Tented Reception in South Hero, Vermont
“My dads toast at the reception was a favorite moment. I had no idea what to expect, but he had told me it was going to be 1-2 minutes long. Little did I know it was going to be perfectly sentimental and he spoke with such ease. He knocked it out of the park!” – Gussie
“I would have to say the most special moment of the day for me was taking the sunset pictures out on the rocks. All my nerves were gone and it was the first moment where Gussie and I were alone since being married!” – Connor
Yogi, the beloved family dog, was ready for her big moment as the flower dog. She just needed a touch of Goo Gone before donning her flower collar!
