Vermont Treehouse Elopement – Jessica and Jordan

Jessica & Jordan eloped on a warm August day in Newport, Vermont at an amazing treehouse with access to a pond and forested area. You may have seen this elopement published in Festival Brides and Vermont Weddings.

“We brainstormed a few ideas for where to have our elopement. We knew we wanted to get married in Vermont since we are both Vermonters. We wanted to get married somewhere pretty with a nice outdoor space and somewhere where we could be comfortable, have privacy, and be ourselves. Somehow I thought to check Airbnb so I did and I found this beautiful treehouse on a secluded pond in the NEK. The idea of having a treehouse to ourselves for the weekend surrounded by beautiful secluded nature around us was exactly what we were looking for. Jordan and I both loved the idea so we booked it!”

“When we met with Julia the first time we could tell she wanted to get to know us while also trying to understand our vision for our day. Julia had all kinds of helpful tips that were so useful for me to know, but I didn’t know enough to ask. The day of the session Julia was just awesome to work with. Julia even helped me button my dress when I couldn’t reach and fixed my floral crown. It was like having a friend there. Then of course the final photos are gorgeous. Before I saw them I was trying to imagine how they would look. The final photos are a thousand times more beautiful than I even imagined. Julia were able to capture the little details we may forget while also capturing the overall feel of the day.”

“There really were many factors that went into why we decided to elope. Ultimately it just felt right for us. Being able to focus on each other, our commitment to each other, and just enjoying the company of each other on this special day was amazing. I will cherish how I felt on that day forever.”

After an incredibly intimate and tear-jerking ceremony (for everyone present) Jessica & Jordan headed back to the tree house to prepare a picnic together. With tasty treats from City Market, these two found a quiet spot to share their meal.

They event had a cut the cake moment!

“My favorite part of the photography session was how comfortable I was and how much fun I had even though there was a camera on me. Before we started I was really nervous knowing I was about to be in front of a camera for hours, but Julia made me feel so comfortable and I ended up having so much fun with it! It was a perfect balance between the flow of how Jordan and I had planned to celebrate the evening and you gently prompting us for photos at the right time. We were both so happy!”

As the stars began to emerge from the sky, Jordan built a campfire and the two snuggled up for the evening.

“To couples planning to elope I would say to not worry about making the day feel “special”. I was worried that without a bunch of people there celebrating with us it somehow wouldn’t feel special or significant. If you spend the day doing what you both enjoy, and just love each other and laugh with each other, and it will be the most special day of your life.”

An exceptional day, for an exceptional couple.
