“I am so inspired by the outdoors and the trips we’ve been on together, which is how we settled on a vague National Parks theme, and the song “America” for the processional. More than anything, we wanted our wedding to be completely ours, not a wedding that anyone else would have. So we took what we knew and loved and went with it. “ – Callison

Natolie & Trent married on October 6, 2018 at a private home nestled in the green mountains of Stowe, Vermont. It was the height of fall foliage, with amber and ochre hues bringing the landscape alive. Natolie & Trent live in Louisiana, and wanted to plan a destination wedding somewhere special to them.  “The beautiful fall colors, the mountains and waterfalls and the gorgeous forests in Vermont were what really inspired us.” – Natolie

This editorial was inspired by the lush, Spring landscape found at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. The lodge was founded by the Von Trapp family, best known for inspiring the Sound of Music, and has spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. A collaboration between several different creatives, we wanted to create a romantic, old world inspired session that focused on the vitality of Spring.

“We wanted our wedding to be small and personal, and all about family. Mitch built the arbor we were married under from wood from the property in Westmoreland. We had so many family members participate: Mitch’s brother Bob married us, his brother Ed was a groomsman, and his nephew Dan was his  best man.  My sisters Anne and Kate were my bridesmaids and readings were done by Mitch’s daughters, Ivy and Fallon and my nieces Dorothy, Violet, and Claire. Our cake was made by Mitch’s niece Kate and our band was headed up by his nephew Chris. Lastly, my nephew Will walked me down the aisle and to top it all off our Labradoodle Finn was our ring bearer!” – Chaipel

“There really were many factors that went into why we decided to elope. Ultimately it just felt right for us. Being able to focus on each other, our commitment to each other, and just enjoying the company of each other on this special day was amazing. “Immediately after our first look and private vows, the winds picked up, they skies turned grey and there was rain on the horizon (the forecast had called for sun and zero percent chance of rain). The next couple of hours were a rollercoaster of emotions and decisions. At first, the radar looked gloomy and as though the storm wouldn’t pass for a while. The decision was made to move the flowers and “stumpaltar” from the ceremony field to under the tent. The groomsmen were tasked and they graciously – without complaint, in the pouring rain – moved everything themselves. Tom, our parents and some close family friends were carefully watching the radar carefully. They calmly walked in to the room full of bridesmaids to tell me that, unfortunately, we were going to have to do the ceremony under the tent. I was surprisingly cool, calm and collected. I took a swig of Whistle Pig and said “ok!”. “ – Sarah
