“Alex and I met in September so the fall has always been a special time of year for us. This is what inspired us to choose a rustic fall themed summer camp wedding in The Champlain Islands. The camp had little cottages located along Lake Champlain that the guests stayed in. The leaves were just slightly starting to change color, however it was somehow 80 degrees. The ceremony took place overlooking the lake with mountains as the backdrop. The dining tables were decorated with lanterns, pumpkins and leaves to give that autumn feel and the hall of the camp had a canopy of lights over the guests as they danced the night away. We ended the evening with a bonfire on the beach. ” – Molly
“We went to the same high school and had been around each other from being in the same graduating class and being involved in music extracurriculars like chorus. However, we officially started becoming friends after being in the same history class in junior year where we bonded and eventually started dating. What began as helping each other with history homework and passing notes in class, evolved into all night phone calls and hanging out after school until our parents picked us up from our respective extracurriculars! We also had some close mutual friends who connected us and sped the process along!” – Winnie
“Most people who come here as refugees, come from countries where there was torture or war. They had to run away from something. At some point, this trauma will become a challenge. I think the challenge is finding psychologists who have cultural competency training who have a deep understanding of the trauma that they may have gone through.” – Thato Ratsbe
The invitation to their wedding featured an image of a cork from Robert Hooke’s 1665 book “Micrographia,” notable as the first book to show illustrations seen through a microscope. I’ve always been a bit of a bibliophile, so it was a particularly delicious moment for me when I was able to photograph their rings and invitation along with an original copy of this historic volume.

“We chose to celebrate our marriage on the winter solstice to create a glowing memory to brighten the shortest and darkest day of the year. The lake and Charlotte beach hold a wistful and romantic place in both of lives. We could not have picked a more memorable and moving time, place and photographer to engrave this moment into our memory.” – Will
Caitlin & Paul married on June 24, 2017 in pastoral Waitsfield, VT. The rain gave way to a gorgeous, sunny day at the Inn at the Round Barn Farm. Stone walls, lily-pad filled ponds, archways and butterflies made this a beautiful place to celebrate. The two tied the knot at the Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, with a traditional ceremony lead by one of Paul’s childhood friends, Grayson. I photographed Caitlin’s sister’s wedding last year, and it was awesome to visit with the family again and be part of another exemplary wedding.
“Linking arms with my dad, I was already crying, but in that moment everything felt so real. The next moment was even more emotional, walking down the aisle and seeing everyone under the trees. I couldn’t believe that everyone came to celebrate with us! Standing under the Madrone tree gazing into Michael’s eyes as Captain Mike spoke, I felt so loved and so full of love.” – Sarah
“I felt a sense of calm that I did not expect to feel on our wedding day. I was nervous to have all eyes on me for sure, but I was so happy to be surrounded by our wonderful families and so excited & comforted to be marrying Garrett that I wasn’t really anxious about anything. I was definitely expecting to be a weepy mess during the ceremony, and got pretty emotional just thinking about it ahead of time. But when I took Garrett’s arm at the altar and saw & felt how emotional he was, all I felt was this need to support him. That was a solidifying moment for me – Garrett has been my rock through so much, and there I knew that I would be able to be a rock for him too as we go through life. ” – Kate
“Both of our favorite parts of the wedding was how our immediate families came together and seemed to really enjoy spending time with each other, despite some folks not having met each other yet… and the food and weather were awesome! Plus, there is something special about what happens visually at the end of April, with buds and flowers just starting to come out. It is a beautiful time of the year.” – Rosy
The sun rises on the eastern tip of Acadia National Park and orange light floods the world. Salty spray, daisy-filled fields, sun-soaked walks in Somerville, climbing up stratum-filled mountains, oysters, breweries and book stores. An eight day road trip around New England with my partner, Nick, proved most enjoyable.
