Jesse & Aidan married on a beautiful fall day at The Old Lantern Inn & Barn in Charlotte, Vermont.

“We were really inspired to ensure that the aesthetic and overall feel of the day aligned with who we are and how we live. We didn’t want the wedding to be overly formal or stuffy but wanted to showcase the rustic beauty of Vermont in the fall. I am completely obsessed with the fall and we couldn’t of lucked out more in terms of the foliage and weather. We instantly fell in love with the Old Lantern because it had a very intimate and magical feel. It just felt right. We also felt an instant connection with Julie, the Old Lantern’s wedding planner, and knew we were in capable and caring hands.” -Jesse

A few miles away from the venue, is one of my favorite public beaches in Vermont, the Charlotte Town Beach. Last time I had been there was for Ruby & Will’s Winter Solstice Elopement, and I knew this would be a wonderful place for Jesse & Aidan to share their first look.

“Seeing Jesse for the first time was the most emotional moment for me. That’s the moment I remember the most and that made me feel the most overwhelmed with emotion. Our vow reading was a close second.” – Aidan

“I felt quite emotional throughout the whole day but think the ceremony was the most emotional part of the day for me. Sharing such intimate words and promises with one another  while in the presence of the human beings we love and cherish most was so powerful and moving. My brother officiating was so special. He made the ceremony feel so personal and authentic to who we are as individuals, as well as a couple.” – Jesse

One curve ball that Jesse & Aidan handled like a pro, was when Jesse got a bloody nose right before the ceremony started. I asked Jesse what advice she would have for other couples.

“ I felt exceptionally calm and at peace the entire wedding day, which shocked me, as this is not my day-to-day presentation! I felt so much joy and relief that the day had arrived (and the planning was complete!) and felt so completely in the moment. The advice that we were continuously given was to really treasure and savor the day, as it all goes by so fast. I really took this advice to heart and didn’t want to worry the day away or stress over minor details.

When the bloody nose curve ball arrived, my friends, family, and Lisa, the owner of the venue, all rallied around me and were so supportive! Within a fraction of section, I had a tissue under my nose, an ice back on my neck, and a close friend pinching my nose. I remember feeling so grateful to be surrounded by so much love and care. That gratitude overpowered the nerves and before I knew it, I was headed down the aisle, with a dress that remained white! ” – Jesse

“We felt so comfortable and at ease we felt with Julia. From the very first time we met her, she exuded warmth, kindness, professionalism, and a confidence in her craft that eased any worries we had.  She made taking photographs fun, easy, and painless. She was able to capture so many amazing candid moments which was really important to us. “ – Jesse & Aidan
