Becki & Ross married on the day the Strawberry Moon rose on a June day at her family home in Grand Isle, Vermont. Becki & Ross have been together since they were 18, and this wedding was truly a wonderful event based around family love and partnership.
“What we were thinking about planning the wedding and the visual theme was that we just wanted family and friends involved in the process. We are very family and friend oriented and just wanted everyone to have a part in it all. From music to flowers to setup, we knew everyone involved and wanted it to be a close intimate setup. It all really made it seem like the ceremony we wanted but also a close party amongst everyone we know. I think that’s the best way, through good and bad times in the process, it was always a close event and we wouldn’t change it.” – Becki
One of Ross’ best friends died recently, so he kept a picture of him close to his heart on the wedding day.
Becki wore her mother’s wedding dress, which fit her perfectly. I also fell in love with her fabulous shoes!
After getting ready, it was time for Becki & Ross to share their first look and privately read their vows to each other on the shore of Lake Champlain.
”I think, by far, my favorite moment of the day was seeing Ross peer from the corner of the trail down to the beachfront during our “first look”. I felt butterflies that I’ve never felt before seeing his expression as he saw me for the first time in my wedding dress. I think in that moment, everything hit me hard and fast and I couldn’t believe that I was finally able to marry my best friend.
I spoke my vows as honest and raw as I possibly could. Being able to Express my love for him in such a way, knowing that we were about to be married, was probably the most vulnerable I’ve ever felt in my life. Getting to see his reaction without anyone else distracting us was priceless.” – Becki
“Another really great moment was seeing how happy and excited our families were as we were approaching the ceremony. Everyone was so happy for Ross and I and that just made us both feel so incredibly loved. At one point, right after we entered the reception, my 6 year old nephew came up to me and gave me the biggest hug he’s ever given me and told me “this is the best wedding everrr!!”. That was pretty special.” – Becki
The wedding was full of personal details and luscious florals.
“Dancing with our parents was extremely heartwarming. Dancing with my father was something that I’ve always dreamt about when I would get married and the minute he started singing the lyrics to me was a moment that I will always keep dear to my heart. “ – Becki
There was a spectacular sunset, sending a golden glow across the water.
Becki & Ross had a heartfelt, wonderful wedding that was just what they imagined. “Regardless of other peoples concerns or ideas, it’s your wedding and they will still be behind you to make it the day you have in mind. Make it the special day you always envisioned and everything will fall in place and your journey will continue! It’s about the love that you two share and in the end that’s all that counts.” – Becki
