Photographing weddings is a deeply personal experience. Being part of such a momentous day is exhilarating, reverential and powerful. Your photographs should reflect the unique quality and experience of your celebration. I take pride in watching the day unfold, and capturing the moments that mean the most.

AS SEEN IN
+ How would you describe your 'style' as a photographer?
I specialize in portraiture and photojournalism. I’m always searching for the most dynamic way to photograph the moment without interrupting. Making images is a way I process and create beauty.
+ Where are you based?
Winooski, Vermont. Locals call it “the Brooklyn of Burlington” - New Yorkers just call it Winooski.
+ What are your rates?
Every wedding is unique. To ensure you receive what you are envisioning for your wedding photography, we should chat and determine your investment together.
A full day of wedding coverage is $4000, which comes with a private online image gallery (around 500 awesome photographs), wooden print box with 10 prints & USB drive with all the photographs.
+ How far do you travel for a wedding?
I love to travel, and there is no distance too far! I've been all over the USA, as well as Italy, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ethiopia and Kenya. I try to keep the cost of travel as low as possible for clients, and the rate is individually based on the complexity of the travel plans. I prefer not to charge for the travel unless it is somewhat substantial. If you are a three hour drive away, I may ask for you to pay for an Airbnb.
+ How do we book you?
Step One: Send me an email to see if your wedding date is still available.
Step Two: We get together for coffee, or a cocktail, and get to know each other! I want hear all about your celebration, what you envision in terms of photography, and answer all your questions! Skype/Google Hangout is always a back-up option. This is, of course, a free consultation.
Step Three: I send you my contract, which you sign and snail mail to me with a 50% deposit. I prefer a check, if possible, but I can also process credit cards.
+ When will I next hear from you?
I love to get updates from you throughout the process! Stay in touch and feel free to reach out with any questions or just to chat. About 2 - 4 weeks before the wedding there will be one very in-depth conversation where we go over the entire day, create a group photo list, tweak the timeline and make sure everything flows nicely.
+ When will I receive my photographs?
Around 4 - 8 weeks after the wedding, I will send you a private online image gallery where you’ll be able to view all the photographs from the day. You can share this gallery with all your family and friends. At this time, I’ll also be mailing your print box & USB.
+ How many photographs will I receive?
Around 500 - 700 images - I want you to have every great photograph! Each image is individually edited in color, and a selection is edited in black & white.
+ Can I print my photos?
I’ll be giving you high-res files ready for printing, and please do! You always have the option of printing through me and my Epson printer, but if you want to send ten prints to your maid of honor, you are welcome to print wherever you choose. I’m interested in making great photographs, and your enjoyment of those photographs.
+ Should I get an album?
Curling up together with a beverage and a hard-bound book honoring your wedding is pretty spectacular. In a digital time period, I'm all about the tangible. All albums are linen bound, with your names engraved on the front with lay flat pages.
+ How do you feel about LGBTQA marriage?
I fully support same-sex marriage and any LGBTQA union! I've also been featured on Equally Wed.
+ I'm not very comfortable in front of the camera and I’m not really into posing for pictures, will we have to pose?
For most of the wedding you’ll hardly notice me; I’ll mostly be quietly running around trying to find a more interesting angle. For your couple portraits I will find a beautiful spot and give you a little bit of direction, but they should not feel posed. I believe that natural moments are the most beautiful.
+ I'm a very private person and I don't want my wedding photographs online, is that a problem?
Not at all! Your privacy is very important to me, and I can adjust secrecy, security and availability of your images based on our arrangement.
+ Do you photograph group shots?
Yes, although my speciality is in photojournalism, which basically means I prefer to be fly on the wall, and let those beautiful moments unfold uninterrupted. I will help you organize the posed group photos so that they have the smallest impact on the day as possible. I suggest planning for 5 to 8 carefully selected photos, which should not take more than 30 minutes. I want you to live in the moment, and enjoy the time with your guests - not stand around waiting for them!
+ Do you prefer flash photography or natural light?
Natural light is my absolute favorite. For me, photographs that best reflect the moment are the one’s that look like that moment, and the quality of light is an integral part of that aesthetic. Plus, it’s beautiful. Of course, when needed, I will use my flash.
+ Do you shoot with a second photographer?
Usually, it’s just me! Depending on the size and complexity of the wedding, I sometimes recommend hiring a second shooter, which I offer for a separate fee. I occasionally bring an assistant, but I will notify you before bringing anyone to your wedding.
+ Do you have insurance?
+ Are there other wedding professionals you recommend?
+ Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding?
I hope you will consider inviting your guests to an electronic-free ceremony. With a camera in everyone’s pocket these days, guests can easily get caught up in taking pictures instead of being fully present and enjoying your ceremony. Ten or more floating screens, and the sound clicking cameras, is distracting for you, everyone else, and makes my job really difficult. Unfortunately, many a photograph has been ruined by an Aunt Elizabeth and her iPad. And, let's be honest - I’m going to make a much better picture, that’s exactly why you’ve hired me!
